If one thing can be said, this work gives off essence, pure essence Greenbeam & Leon that bring you to another dimension. An extended variety of genres and references featured on this album, bringing a lot of influences and different compositions together, sometimes dark, sometimes deep, sometimes raw, sometimes melancholic, but all with essence. Orange marbled vinyl. In the past few years, Korean labels and artists in the far east have begun to stand out. One label is Ameniia, led by Marcus L. The owner of Faust, an indispensable pioneer club in Asia, has been presenting EPs of various styles in recent years. Released in April 2019, 292513 = STORM EP is back with a remix version that includes promising four artists armed with intense beats and wild sound.
Frenchman Djedjotronic always cooks up dystopian drama with a tangible physical aesthetic that rips dance floors apart. He does so on CPU, Zone and this label and is in his element in a sweaty low-ceilinged basement as much as he is the iconic techno hub that is Berghain. A master of dark and uncompromising grooves, he has more than 10 years in the game behind him but still serves up the unexpected.
Hidden Spheres is the alter ego of Manchester’s Tom Harris, who first made his mark on the underground circuit with his release ‘The Bloos’ on Moods & Grooves, before following it up with the much in demand ‘Waiting’ on Lobster Theremin offshoot Distant Hawaii. Here, Tom joins the Scissor & Thread family, the Brooklyn label founded by Francis Harris, and home to music that traverses a number of boundaries. Hidden Spheres fits right in - the five track 1985 EP blends house, broken beat, ambient, jazz and other elements into a heady brew.
Fine Touch’s debut on Money Cat Records comes in the form of 4 simmering tracks that stitches together raw materials from Chicago, Paris by-way of Africa, and Philly. Penthouse Edits Vol. 2 captures these feverish sounds in the dial of percussive, soul drenched grooves aimed at the listener and dancer alike.
"Different Planets EP" sees the duo navigate between Disco flavored House, dreamy electronics and old school Chicago influences. The remix is by none other than Belfast based DJ and founder of Body Fusion: Bobby Analog.
