The Album was the fourth LP released for Rephlex and was the first and only time that Grant Wilson label Claridge and Richard James's label released in a digital format only, "The Album" contains 13 tracks amongst the best rhythmic and melodic experiments of the Italian duo DArcangelo on Rephlex. Finally available on vinyl thanks to the friendly folks of WeMe Records.
It’s that time of the year again: we’re finishing our 6th year of Heist Recordings with our annual potpourri of remixes with this year’s artists on “The Round Up Part VI”. This year, we’ve got a few really cool newcomers on the label like Demuir, Perdu and Makèz, as well as label mainstays Fouk and yours truly delivering a great collection of remixes.
Intense minimalist industrial acid tekno mantra beats by Albert van Abbe as Datasmok. A 'mini-concept-album' full heavy-hitting, brutal mean-and-lean, 'dirty-brown-and-miserable' psychotic visions. The Datasmok project was kickstarted by default when Guy Tavares and Albert decided to release archived tracks from Van Abbe on Tavares' Bunker Records. All tracks of this second volume of back-catalog material got special treatment in Tavares' subterranean master studio.
Electronic duo Atelier excel at riding chillwave to a cooler, moodier sound. Atelier was conceptualized by childhood friends Alexander Inggs and Jaś Miszewski whose love of analog synths, drum machines and effects pedals is revealed in a hardware-heavy live show. The project is a platform for combining their differing musical backgrounds – a blend of house, indie, folk and techno – and has an underlying maturity that emerges in their frank performances and honest productions.
